Recurated Protection for Buyers

With Recurated Protection, you can shop safely, knowing we've got your back in case something goes wrong, subject to the eligibility criteria and exclusions below.

Recurated Protection is available to buyers in Malaysia. Read on for full details of the program, which forms part of our Terms of Service.

What's eligible for Buyer Protection?

If your item doesn't arrive, arrives damaged, or is significantly not as described, you'll get a full refund if you report the issue to us within 7 days of the date of purchase or within 2 days when items are marked as delivered.

Your full purchase price (including shipping, fees, and any applicable taxes/duties) is protected automatically if you qualify for Recurated Protection.

All purchase methods are included, so you can shop safely with Recurated Payments (Apple/Google Pay, card payments, and Klarna).

What's Excluded from Buyer Protection?

To be eligible for Recurated Protection, items must be purchased through the Recurated app (coming soon) or website using the BUY button. Transactions made via direct money transfers outside of Recurated, including PayPal, Venmo, or bank transfers, will not qualify. Additionally, if you choose to meet the seller in person to complete the transaction, you will not be covered.

We cannot guarantee a refund if the tracking information shows that the item was delivered to your provided address. If you are unable to locate your package, check with neighbors or take extra precautions to prevent theft.

If you are filing a claim for a damaged or significantly misrepresented item, you must keep the item until the claim process is complete. We cannot guarantee refunds for items that have been thrown away or discarded.

Recurated Protection Is Not Insurance

Please note that Recurated Protection is not an insurance policy, warranty, or guarantee. Recurated has sole discretion to determine whether a transaction qualifies for protection (including the refund amount) under this program. We also reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue Buyer Protection at any time, for any reason, without liability for any impact on users. This program does not create any legal rights or claims.

How Do I Buy Safely on Recurated?

Staying safe online is important to protect both your money and personal information. Follow these steps to shop securely on Recurated:

  • Always use the Recurated BUY button to purchase items.
  • Report any issues to our Support team either in-app or through our help center.
  • Ask the seller to ship your item with tracked shipping for every purchase.
  • Keep track of any disputes you open to ensure you provide proof or escalate on time.
  • Stay on the Recurated app or website for all communication with the seller.
  • Report any violations of our Community Guidelines.

How Can I Check My Item Before Buying?

Making informed purchases is key to a smooth shopping experience. As long as you buy through the Recurated app or website, your purchase is covered by Recurated Protection. Here are some things to check before you buy:

  • Check the seller's reviews – feedback from past buyers can help you understand what to expect.
  • Review photos and descriptions carefully – look for any flaws or imperfections noted by the seller.
  • Contact the seller to ask for measurements or any other details about the item.
  • Ensure the seller uses their own pictures – request additional images if you need more clarity.
  • Buying a high-end item? Ask the seller for proof of authenticity before making a purchase.

What Should I Avoid?

To stay safe while shopping on Recurated, avoid the following:

  • Paying outside of the Recurated app, including direct payments like bank transfers.
  • Meeting in person for collections or drop-offs.
  • Returning any items without tracked shipping.
  • Direct messaging users outside of the Recurated app.
  • Sharing personal information, such as phone numbers or social media handles, with other users.
  • Purchasing prohibited items – these are banned to ensure a safe community for all buyers and sellers.
Selling Guide

To sell safely on Recurated, there are important things to remember :

  • Only ever sell items directly through the Recurated app (coming soon) or Recurated.my. When you sell an item through Recurated, you'll automatically receive both an email from Recurated and a notification in-app. You don't need to take any further action to complete the sale.
  • Never give out your personal information (i.e. email, phone number, card details or social media handles) to anyone on Recurated. If someone sends you a message asking for your personal information, they may be trying to lead you off Recurated, which could put you at risk. Recurated will never ask you to confirm your personal details to complete a sale.
  • Once you've sent the item, make sure to add the tracking number to your in-app receipt. Report any issues or concerns to Recurated Support - and if you're at all suspicious about another user, don't hesitate to report them to us.

What should I avoid?

Never give out any personal information to anyone on Recurated - this includes your email, phone number, card details or personal social media Don't arrange in-person sales or collections Never click on any links that you are sent by another user, within or outside of the app Don't take payment outside of Recurated's checkout system - payment methods such as bank transfers, direct payments, or cash are unsafe, against terms and could leave you out of pocket Avoid contacting any users outside of Recurated - if anything goes wrong we may not be able to take any action.

What else should I know?

Describe and take accurate photos of the items you list and only ship the item to the address listed by the buyer. Try to keep your proof of shipping receipt or take a photo before shipping.
